MCPup is my first attempt to make an optimized version of Puppy Linux 3.01
for the Norhtec Microclient Sr :

Here are the main features of this pupplet:

Hardware acceleration is enabled [you can verify with "grep rendering /var/log/Xorg.0.log" in console]
The media player is an optimized version of MPlayer for unichrome, with a loaded package of codecs;
fullscreen video playing results in a very reasonable cpu usage [divx in 1024x768 consumes only 35% of CPU];
Firefox 3.01 is installed with the last Flash plugin and the MPlayer plugin; video embedded in wep pages
are played through the MPlayer engine and so fully benefit from hardware acceleration;
The mail client is Thunderbird 2.0.0.16;
The last version of the famous p2p client aMule is installed with all its great functionalities:
daemon, command line client, webserver, remote gui, statistics...and so on;
WARNING: Puppy uses root account, and so aMule does; it is a bad security issue, but i did not
find any other way to install & run it; at least i removed the anoying splash warning.

There are many other tweaks, but these are the main reasons i wanted an optimized Puppy for my MC.

I worked very hard to build it but there is certainly a lot of bugs in MCPup.
